Swinging Up/down

The swing arm connects to the back of the bench by a piano hinge.  The hinge is attached to a 2x12 suspended from the back of the bench and screwed to the wall of my shop for stability.  The swing arm is built from scrap 2x4's and 2x6's most.  It is about two feet wide.

There is a concrete block I'm temporarily using as a counterweight.

You can see the PVC pipe for my dust collector.

The router cord hides under the bench and goes up to a wall outlet through a hole in the bench.

Up/Down Movements

The up/down movement of the tool is controlled by a swing arm that hangs beneath my workbench.
