About Charlie Garner

The Grinders Switch hour on Kix 96.7 radio was established in May 2004 and hosted by music veteran Charlie Garner in the Hickman County Chamber of Commerce office. Charlie spent 30 years touring with Grand Ole Opry Legend Del Reeves. Charlie lost a long battle with brain cancer in September 2008.  The show features local events and personalities, as well as live music performed by local celebrities.

This carving is on display at the Grinders Switch Interpretative Center in the Chamber of Commerce in Centerville, TN.

Charlie Garner

"Love one another" was one of the closing lines Charlie used on the Grinders Switch Hour each Saturday morning.  He lived that way, and he carried out the radio show that way.  Guests were always warmly welcomed and treated as if they were family.  Charlie Garner
