The Inspiration

In the autumn, the leaves of the hardwood trees in Middle Tennessee show their colors brightly in the clear Fall air.  In the spring, they bring new life.  In summer, they cool the air, hide the birds, and make the food that grows the trees.  In winter, they lie and wait on the rain and run in ripples across open fields when the wind blows.  There are millions of leaves, mostly unnoticed.

Particularly in the fall after the leaves have fallen, the leaves curl and shrink into many shapes and colors.  Each kind of leaf expresses a personality.
